Alzheimer’s disease is a form of brain disorder that seriously affects a person’s ability to complete daily activities. Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia in older people.
Alzheimer’s disease starts slowly, affecting the portions of the brain that control thought, memory, and language. As Alzheimer’s progresses, the person may not recognize family members or have trouble speaking, reading, or writing. In the latter stages the person may become anxious, aggressive, or wander away. In the end the person needs total care.
